Day two saw Ibiza enter the National finals with three consecutive matches against Costa Del Sol, Levante and Pak-I-Care.
Match one went the way convincingly to Costa Del Sol to eliminate Levante from final contention. Levante playing for pride then came up against Ibiza and scored their first points of the tournament with a two run victory for the Islanders. That result confirmed a Costa Del Sol v Pak-I-Care final.
The ultimate game in the group stage was between Pak-I-Care and Ibiza. Pak-I-Care were put into bat and scored 109 for 8. Top scorer was Sikander with 24 whilst Charlie Eldridge bagged three wickets for his side. In reply Ibiza made 71 for 5 from their ten overs. Atif with one wicket for five runs was the pick of the Catalan bowlers with Babar (one for ten) also finishing with healthy figures.
The final was a one sided affair with the Catalans easily disposing of the Costa Del Sol effort. Batting first the Southerners could only muster 46 for 6 from their ten over allocation. Openers Muhammad Babar and Muhammad Ihsan were clinical in chasing down the small total and did so in just eighteen balls. Babar also claimed the MVP of the tournament in the after match celebrations.
Congratulations once again to Imran Malik and his Pak-i-Care team who proved once again their dominance within domestic cricket in Spain. Their reward for victory is to once again represent Cricket España in the European Cricket League in early 2024 at Malaga. Well done to all teams for being involved in a successful tournament that was played in great spirit throughout the weekend.
