Cricket España are pleased to confirm the appointment of Neil Brook as the Regional Development Manager of Cricket España.
The newly created position, in line with Cricket Espana’s strategic plan, will seeNeil charged with the responsibility for planning, managing and ensuring the delivery of various development programmes across the country.
Neil comes into the role with a wealth of grass roots knowledge of Cricket in Spain. He has managed and coached a variety of clubs including Junior national teams and until recently he was in charge of the Spanish Women’s team that is currently ranked 35th in the world.
A coach tutor with ICC accredited coaching certificates, he was recognised by the head body of cricket recently with a lifetime achievement award for services to Spanish cricket.
On hearing the news of being the successful candidate for the new role Neil stated that “after spending twenty years involved in developing cricket throughout Spain I am honoured to be taking up the role of the Regional Development Manager with Cricket España”
“I am fully aware that taking on this role will be a huge task but one thing I do know is that we have got a fantastic working hard to grow Spanish cricket.”
“I see my role working throughout the regions developing cricket within schools, whilst establishing pathways for Junior and Women National squads, academies and coach development. It is important that these stepping stones are in place to continue the growth and sustain the success of Spanish cricket”
Neil starts his new position with immediate effect, after coming off the back of the very positive first weekend of the Women’s national league and the No Boundaries programme that he was instrumental in creating.
