ALCORCON TROUNCE VALENCIA GREEN
Tariq Ali was in scintillating form as Alcorcon trounced Valencia Green at La Manga last weekend. Ali scored another century plus, this time clouting 163 in a mammoth 335 all out total for the Madrid based club. He shared in a 150 run partnership with Muhammad Akmal, who scored 51 and there were also useful contributions from Rehan Ul Haq (60) and Malik Safdar Ali 37.
Under the circumstances Fiaz had impressive bowling figures for Green, returning figures of 4 for 53 off his 9 overs.
Green tried in vain to reach the required 336, finally ending on 135 all out off 20.3 overs. Alcorcon took a total 20 points from the game whilst Green got a total of 7 points. Alcorcon now look the main threat along with La Manga to Sporting Alfas who have an 100% win ratio from their first 4 games.
