It was the turn of the Stars of Valencia and United of Madrid to meet in a league clash for the first time and it was the team from the capital that emerged victorious.
Valencia Star batted first but failed to post any kind of competitive total on the glorious La Manga pitch. They were finally all out for just 150 runs in the 30th over. A large chunk of that came from the bats of Asad Raza and Yesir Altar who scored 49 and 43 respectively.
In reply, United scored quickly, but worrying also lost wickets at regular intervals. A fine 36 by Irfan Ul Haq put United in a good position and then the job was finally finished of by Taqueer Hussein. The former Slough Cricket Club star ended the match on 39 not out and his team still had four wickets in hand when the winning run was scored.
United took 19 points from the contest, whilst Valencia Star got 5 points from their second league defeat of the season.
