The local derby between the Valencia Stars and Levante went the way of Levante in a low scoring contest at the VCG last weekend
Levante batted first and batted all their overs to post a score of 169 for 8. It was the Levante middle order that caused the most damage with Fazal, Nisar and Mudassar all making notable contributions.
For the Stars Tayyab, Zabi and Harjinder took two wickets apiece.
In reply, the Stars put in a poor batting performance and only managed to score 143 all out. They only had themselves to blame for not overtakng the Levante total, as seven of their batsmen got into double figures onlt to continually get out at crucial times.
Nisar completed a great all round personal performance to take three wickets at a cost of just 25 runs. Levante take 18 points from the game and are now two wins from two, whilst the Stars have six points from the game which is enough to go to top of the league but they have played a couple of more games than their nearest rivals.
