The Stars from Valencia and Madrid met for their league match at La Manga and it was the East Coast side who came away with a surprising victory.
The team from the capital won the toss and elected to bat but it was a decision that backfired as they were bowled out for just 139 runs. Only three of the Madrid batsmen reached double figures whilst Sami took four wickets for just 24 runs for his team.
In reply, the team for Valencia made relatively hard work of chasing down such a cheap total. They lost five wickets but in batsmen Naveed, who struck 66, they had a player who was determined to steer his side to victory. He departed just before the end, leaving Asad and Hasam to see Valencia over the finishing line.
Valencia took 19 points from the game whilst Madrid went back to the capital with just four points.
