VALENCIA DO LEAGUE DOUBLE OVER GREEN

On the same day that Valencia and Levante were contesting the football derby at the Mestella, the two cricketing clubs from the city were facing up against each other at the Woodbridge Oval for the second time in as many weeks.

Just like the previous encounter Valencia overturned last years league runners up to make it 3 wins out of 3,thus remaining firmly at the top of the ECCL Division 1 league table.

Green batted first and accumulated 158 all out from 32 overs. A below par score at the Woodbridge Oval it put Valencia in pole position at the interval. Valencia made hard work of the relatively low score however, finally previling by just 2 wickets.

Valencia scored 18 points from the game and Green 6 points, but both teams unfortunately left the Albir ground 2 points lighter, as both teams failed to provide a designated scorer for the game.
