A fantastic eight wicket haul from skipper Lee Brown ensured Torrevieja will not go through the season without a league victory, as they ran out winners against Intellectuals of Alicante in last weekends ECCL development league game.
Torrevieja won the toss and elected to field. A good decision this proved to be as the Intellectuals could only manage 96 for 9 on a pitch were runs were hard to find.
Brown returned figures of eight wickets for seven runs in an impressive display that ranks as one of the best performances in recent years.
In reply, the home side reached the total with five wickets to spare with both Lee Blann and Keiron Wood top scoring with 21 runs apiece, although Blann remained not out at the end of procedures.
