La Manga second team posted another comprehensive victory against Torrevieja yesterday to stay well in touch at the top of the ECCL Development table.
Batting first La Maga reached a total of 187 for 3 off their allocated overs. Opener Kevin Buckley hit a fine half century and all the other batmen added contributions. Matthews was the pick of the visiting bowling bagging all three wickets at a cost of just 42 runs from his full eight overs.
Torrevieja tried hard to chase down the competitive total but were finally all out for 109 in the 35th over. Top scorer for Torrevieja was again Jack Webster with 22. For La Manga Davis got four cheap wickets and Phull took another three of the Torrevieja wickets for just 13 runs.
The 78 run victory gave La Manga 18 points and Torrevieja took 3 points from the game
In the other ECCL game at La Manga this weekend Alcorcon forfeited the game because they were unble to get a full team to travel down from Madrid. La Manga get 20 points and Alcorcon minus 20 points.
