Lots of street cricket activities have been prevalent throughout Spain in September and it culminates this weekend with a series of events in Madrid and Valencia.
Earlier this month Girona, in the Northern part of Spain had a street cricket event in conjunction with the local fiestas and Torrevieja had their annual Animation in the Streets competition last weekend.
Tommorrow (Thursday) CEIP San Isdiro school will have a street cricket event run by Andy House and La Manga CC and also Ben Cajee from ICC Europe and Danny Baker of Cricket4change arrive in Spain to assist and support in two projects that are ongoing in Valencia and Madrid respectively.
They will visit two schools with different social backgrounds in Valencia before heading on to Madrid were a street cricket event has been set up by Madrid CC and the local community in the Lavapies district.
Earlier this year Cricket Espana received funding from ICC Europe to help pilot the street cricket project and as the year as progressed activities and participation in events throughout the country have mushroomed.
