St George made it four wins from four with a comfortable 61 run victory over Lanzarote CC. Batting first the league leaders lost both openers early but regained their composure with a nice stand between A French and Neil French.
George were finally all out for 161 in the 33rd over. Monish was the major threat for Lanzarote and the all rounder ended with five wickets for just 21 runs in a noteworthy bowling performance.
In reply Lanzarote struggled from the off, losing wickets at regular intervals. Only three batsmen for Lanzarote got into double figures as they were all out for just 100 runs in the 26th over. The Lanzarote batsmen had no answer to the experience and guile of Geoff Dean who ended up with the fantastic figures of six for 23 off just 5.3 overs.
St George are in prime position to retain the Lanzarote League already and it will take a major effort from the other clubs in the run in to deny them another championship title.
St George CC 161 all out beat Lanzarote CC 100 all out by 61 runs.
