St George maintained their perfect start in the Lanzarote league but they were made to fight every inch of the way by a spirited Wolves team.
Batting first St George were all out on the last ball of their innings for 193. Several players made contributions for St George, but they were mainly indebted to Geoff Dean, batting at number eight, who scored 41 of his sides total. Bruitjes returned figures of two for nine for the Wolves to finish with the best bowling statistics for the Wolves.
In reply, the Wolves looked to be on course to cause a upset at one stage whilst former Spanish Junior International Charlie Cook was at the crease. He cracked 81 runs in quick time but then gout out at a pivitol moment.
The impetus swung back the way of St George and they were finally bowled out in the 31st over, just 25 runs shy of victory. Geoff Dean rounded off a good day for him personally by bagging the final wicket of Sandho and in the process finishing with three wickets for 39 runs.
