Sporting Alfas Cricket Club win low scoring gain that gives SACC the ECCL title.

Sporting Alfas traveled to the La Manga resort, La Manga win the toss and bat first in this must win game for both teams. Roper opens and gets Brook with an unplayable delivery, Pennick then gets Williams with the perfect ball hitting the bottom of leg stump 15 for 2 from 5.

Ranja and Gopi then hung around for 7 overs taking the score on to 41 before Pennick bowled Gopi(23), Ranja still playing very cautiously. After drinks (15 overs) wickets began to fall regularly and at 20 overs the score was looking dismal at 75 for 5. Roper and Crompton taking the wickets.

The spin duo of Crompton and Spencer then took the game away from the home side with the last 5 wickets falling for 42 runs La Manga all out for 112, Pennick 2 for 28, Roper 2 for 31, Crompton 2 for 26 and Spencer 4 for 21, Ranja the pick of the batsmen with 29 Akash standing alone after reaching 19 and watching his team mates perish.

Atif and Talat had it all to do in the second half, but the Alfas pair Pennick and Spencer looked in control but in the 7th over Pennick was adjudged LBW with 32 runs scored, Crompton then joined Spencer and the pair took the score to 67 before the introduction of spin took the game to a new level, Crompton chipping the ball to mid off Akash the bowler, Ranja then bowled a magnificent spell that left the SACC middle order in ruins. Shahzad caught, Brown bowled, then a trio of LBW´s that left SACC reeling on 102 for 8, nerves getting edgy in both camps, Spencer mean while reached his 50 and then mistimed a short one from the useful Ranja caught at gully.

106 for 9 could Metcalf and Ali hold on for the last 7 runs, Atif bowled a maiden then Ranja stepped up to bowl his last over, a play and miss by Ali, another play and miss, a leg glance that raced to the boundary, 3 runs needed. another play and miss, another leg glance 2 runs taken all even! no an over throw gives the batsmen the chance to win the game. 113 for 9 and Sporting Alfas win the ECCL league title with a game in hand.
