Sporting Alfas beat Torreveija yesterday at the Woodbridge Oval in a game that was classified as an away fixture
With the home sides ground not available both teams agreed to the change in order to accomodate a ongested fixture list
Batting first the experiencd Alfas side scored 192 for 6 off their alocation with opener Bobby Nix hitting 87. For Torreveija teenager Michael Carter showedmaturity beyond his years ending up with figures of 1 for 33 off 8 overs, including the scalp of ex-second team Alfas skipper Ben Marriner
In reply, Torreveija were all out for 159 with 51 off those coming in extras that included 37 wides. Jack Webster, Lee Blann and Jon Algar all got starts but none of them could turn their scores into telling contributions.
For Alfas, vice captain Spencer Dawes bagged four wickets as the visitors on home soil won thegame by 33 runs.
Alfas got 18 points whilst Torreveija managed 5 points
