Sporting Alfas maintained their grip at the top of the ECCL Premier League table with another comprehensive victory at the Woodbridge Oval.
The visitors, Valencia Stars won the toss and elected to bat. Unfortunately, their batsmen failed to fire and they were bowled out for the sub-par score of just 107. In contrast the Alfas bowlers performed excellently and were rewarded with some convincing bowling figures.
Basharat Ali led the way, finishing with four wickets for 25, and he was ably assisted Keiran Perman (1-26) Abdul Wajid (3-23) and Jamie Roper (1-7) as the home side entered the half way stage of the match as strong favourites to bag maximum points.
Alfas did overcome the low score, but lost three wickets in the process to lose a precious batting point. Although the result was never in doubt the visitors did have one purple patch in the game when they got the wickets of Laundon, Crompton and Muñoz in a two over spell.
Alfas finished with 19 points from the game, whilst Valencia Stars mustered just 2 points.
Valencia Stars 107 all out, Sporting Alfas 109 for 3
