Sporting Alfas I made it two wins out of two and once again took maximum points in the process during their 58 run victory over Madrid United.

Alfas batted first and runs were in abundance from the first ball. The hosts were nicely placed at 120 for 2 after twenty overs, and then accelerated continously throughout the rest of their innings to post the testng score of 316 for 9.

Faran Afzal top scored for Alfas with 70, but he was almost matched by teenager Adam Algar who managed 69 runs. Phil Pennick also chipped in with a fine half century as the hosts once again showed the strength they have in the batting department.

In reply, Madrid United fought valiantly but found having to go through the innings at seven runs an over just to much, and they were finally all out for 258. Mohammad Asif and Waheed Aktar put on 69 for the third wicket before Aktar was out for 60.

A middle order collapse seemed likely to rob Asif of a well deserved century but Ziaquyan batting at ten had others ideas and the pair put on 68, enabling Asif to achieve his personal milestone before being caught of the bowling of Laundon for 105.

The Alfas first team are back in action today, playing Levante CC. It is the Valencia clubs debut in the premier league and they could not have been given a more difficult start by the fixture list. Start time at the Woodbridge Oval is 13.00 hours, admission is free and everyone is welcome.
