Last year’s National Finalists started off this years league campaign in fine style with a comprehensive victory over Levante CC from Valencia.
Batting first at the Woodbridge Oval the visitors struggled from the first ball and could only muster 153 all out in their innings. Abdul for Sporting Alfas took four wickets for just 29 runs for the hosts.
In contrast, the Alfas batsmen found it easy going against the Levante bowling attack and Adam Alger and Gary Crompton both scored unbeaten half centuries as the home side romped to a nine wicket victory.
Alfas take maximum points from the match whilst Levante just claim two batting points.
Sporting Alfas (20 points) beat Levante (2 points) by 9 wickets.
