Sporting Alfas opened their league campaign in the best possible way by beating table toppers Alcorcon in a one sided affair at the Woodbridge Oval.
Batting first, the usually reliable Alcorcon batsmen failed to fire and could only manage a sub par total of 155 all out. Sadwar followed on from his unbeaten century last week with a top score of 44 but found very little support from anyone else.
Sporting Alfas, in reply, started soundly with both Joel Brook and Phil Pennick getting starts. A few wickets tumbled once those two departed, but it was left to Kevin Laundon to steer his side home with an unbeaten 27 and give his team the victory that never looked in doubt from the onset.
