SACC elected to bat first in this important warm up match. New comer Black getting the chance to show his worth as various Senior players arrived late.Black and Cooper went about business as openers should, taking no chances against a spirited Old Bedfodians attack.
Cooper(7) the first to get out, playing around an inswinger from Arnold. Waqar and Black carried on and the score reached 50 when Waqar (4) gave a simple catch. Fletcher and Black started to set about the bowlers when the crafty spinner Walsh moved Arnold to midwicket and Black(40) found him first ball. Perman senior came and went without troubling the scorers. Spencer(42) and Fletcher(58) started to show the Old Bedfordians a bit of power hitting, both gamely gave up the chance of a personal high score to allow others a chance of batting.
Crompton batting at 8 watched a couple of junior players get out although Tyler Hogan Brown(5) and Kieran Perman(0) hung around for quite a while, which allowed Crompton to smash 6 x sixes and 4 x fours in a quick fire 60. this left Jack Perman(1) out in the middle with Laundon, with the help of Mr Wide(42) Sporting Alfas amassed 262 from 31 overs.
Old Bedfordians never really came to grips with the total and the excellent bowling of youngsters Tyler Hogan Brown(0-31) and Kieran Perman(2-13), Jack Perman(0-31). With wickets falling regulary the total was never under threat. Crompton returned figures of 2-43, Waqar Ashraf 0-15 Fletcher 0-25 and Spencer 1 – 34 which was the pick of the batsmen Arnold holing out to Waqar in the deep for a well taken 109

Saturdays match against the Nomads will be the last game before SACC take on the winners of the Northern league in the Spanish league cup final on Saturday the 22nd of October. at 12 midday. Make sure you are early for what will be a packed ground.
