Sporting Alfas Cricket Club Sporting Alfas 1st X1 154 for 7 beat Oakhill taverners 147 for 10
Electing to bat first Oakhill CC started as though they were still in Benidorm as tight bowling from Abdul Wajid and D Walker reduced them to 3 for 28 from 6 overs, Luckily Shoot and Edington slowed down the wicket taking and reached 60 before first change bowler Conner Wood got his first wicket bowling Edington. 10 runs later C Wood made it 2 clean bowling Fergus.
14 runs later 2 great balls removed the hard hitting Shoot for 27 well caught by Walker, followed by bowling O ´Sullivan for a golden duck, Hat trick on and a great effort by Timmy to give Conner his first hat trick, the ball landing just short of Walker although the crowd and his team mates thought it was a drop. Timmy did eventually become C Woods 5th wicket as he to was bowled. Well done Conner Wood his first 5 for in SACC colours.
Brother Keiran was not being left out and claimed the final 2 wickets, Oahhill CC all out for 147, a score that was well below par at the Woodbridge Oval. Low run chases can be difficult but todays started as planned with 16 coming form the first over, might be over quickly was the whisper around the ground. Shoot had different plans his first only going for 5 wides, Hudson also found his line and 4 came from his second.
Pennick on unlucky 13 was bowled by Shoot, Faran Afzal joining regular tourist Richard and the pair took the score past 50 before Richard was bowled by Fergus. 2-51 from 9 SACC coasting. K Perman joined in the fun and the Alfas pair rushed the total up to 82 when Faran Afzal (22) unexplainably chipped a full toss to Richardson, Perman looked in complete control and was dismayed when wickets began to fall, Abdul (1) Walker (0) Ali(0) and K Wood (10) . Kieran did the only thing he could and started stroking the ball to all parts reaching his 54 run tally of what was the final ball of the day a 6 into the pond.
Two of Spain´s home bred youngster’s won the match for SACC, Conner Wood with 5 for 28 and Kieran Perman with a great 54. A wonderful spectacle.
