SPANISH NATIONAL SQUAD HOLD FIRST TRAINING CAMP OF THE SEASON
It is a big weekend for Spanish cricket as the National squad are getting together for the first of three training camps before the ICC-Europe Division 3 Tournament at La Manga at the end of August.
All 3 training camps will be overseen by the Spanish National Coach Bobby Denning, who recently completed his level IV coaching badge, the highest cricket coaching qualification in the UK. Prior to taking ” La Seleccion ” with coaching drills Bobby will take time out to take an “In House” coaching course that is being co-ordinated by the Director of Senior Cricket George Wambeek.
Prior to the tournament in August, (when Spain will play against Malta, Isle of Man, Israel, Belguim and Portugal ) the National squad will have two friendly games against the strong Scottish outfit Aberdeen CC in April and the premier Surrey club Wimbledon CC in July respectively .

February 27th Cricket Coaching Course,Taken by Bobby Denning. Start time 9.30am at La Manga Club, Candidates to meet at the Q Bar. Duration of the course 1 day.
February 28th Spanish National squad Training Session, Starting at 9.30 am at La Manga.
March 1st Spanish National Squad Training Session, Starting at 9.30 am at La Manga.
April 21st Spanish select X1 v Aberdeen cc Starting 11am, 50 overs at La Manga
April 22nd Spanish select X1 v Aberdeen cc Starting 11am, 50 overs at La Manga
Note this is a National Squad Training Session for 2 Days and all squad players to attend this session. Teams will be selected on the day by Coach Bobby Denning.
June 24th Spanish Chairman’s select X1 v SACC Starting time 1300hrs at the Wodbridge Oval, Alfas,
July 11 &12 Final training Session and Squad meeting at la Manga starting 9.30am
July 30th Spanish Select X1 v Wimbledon CC Starting 11am 50 overs at La Manga.
Sept 23rd Spanish Select X1 v Bears Touring Team Starting 1300hrs at the Woodbridge Oval, Alfas.
EUROPEAN TOURNAMENT At La Manga. Everyone to meet on the 30th August.
August 30th Spanish Squad Meeting at La Manga 12.30am for Preparation for European Tournament.
August 31st First Game Starts at La Manga in the European Tournament. The event runs until the 5th of August, and everyone to depart from the hotel on the morning of 6th of September.
