Below is a list of all the Spanish players that have played in an international tournament sanctioned by the ICC (previously ECC) since Spain played in their very first ICC Tournament in Javea in 2000.
In that year Spain fielded an all Spanish born side with former coach Pete Birtwistle and team manager Graham Howe completing the squad line up. At the time, in 2000 Ken Sainsbury was instrumental in organising the event along with Clive Woodbridge (whom the Sporting Alfas Cricket Ground is named after). A member of that squad was Juan Carlos Rodriguez, who is still involved with Cricket España, and consequently the current President receives cap number one.
The 10 nation tournament received a late boost with the addition of continental cricket’s giants, Denmark and the Netherlands, who replaced Belgium and France just before the event started.
Other countries who competed were Associate members, Germany and Italy, and Affiliate members, Austria, Greece, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland.
Spain finished a creditable fifth in its first ever ECC/ICC competition, beating Denmark in one of their Group A games.

After Javea, Spain played in indoor events throughout Europe (normally six a side) and their first outdoor event was at Seebarn, near Vienna, in 2001 when Spain´s Iberian neighbours Portugal beat the hosts Austria in the final.
Spain narrowly lost out on the final day to Croatia in 2007 in Belgium, and a last day victory on home soil against the Isle of Man in La Manga in 2009 would have given “Los Toros” promotion to ICC Division Two, but a loss to the Manx men allowed Israel to win the competition.
Arguably the biggest heartbreak for Spanish supporters came in Corfu, when Spain only had to beat Sweden in the semi finals to secure promotion to Division One. Batting first the team posted 190 runs only for Sweden to chase the total down with the very last ball of the game.
Since the inauguration of the T20I series events in 2019, Spain have won 12 out of 14 of the matches eligible for ranking points.
