Top Spanish player Yasir Ali will spend this cricketing season playing in the premier division in Holland with newly promoted Punjab CC.
Things have started well for the Cataluyna based player who played a pivotal role in his team overcoming Quick CC of Den Haag in their first Topklasse match.
Ali opened the batting for his Rotterdam based club and made twenty runs before being caught off the bowling of Hendrik-Jan Mol. However, he got revenge when bowling, having the former Dutch International stumped for only one run.
He followed up by then taking the wicket of the Quick skipper Brand, caught at long off, to finish with match figures of 2-25. This tight bowling helped his team to an improbable 4 run victory over one of the better sides in the division.
Ali, remains an integral part of the Spanish National side, and recently scored a superb century against the touring Tom Maynard Academy in February. He was also part of the CE XI team that took part in the La Manga Classic Tournament at the Murcia based resort last month.
Best wishes go out from all at Cricket Espana to Yasir for a successful season with Punjab CC in the Topklasse.
