Sonseca emerged victorious over local rivals Madrid United in the latest league game to take place in the Madrid Regional League.
Batting first Sonseca posted a challenging total of 219 for 8 on a difficult Sonseca wicket. Jalad managed to make a 100 which was the backbone of his teams innings. Imran took three wickets for just 32 runs to record the best bowling figures for Madrid United.
Madrid United struggled in reply, although several of their batsmen made good starts, and they finally went down to the tune of 36 runs.
Opener Faisal top scored with 35, whilst Raza and Javed were the pick of the Sonseca bowlers taking 3-14 and 3-48 respectively.
As a result Sonseca move up to third in the table, a point behind Madrid United, but Sonseca have a game in hand. Madrid remain 16 points clear of Madrid United and 17 clear of Sonseca but they have also played a game more than Sonseca.
Sonseca 219 for 8 (19 points) beat Madrid United II 183 all out (7 points) by 36 runs.
