Last week around 250 children took part in a Introduction to cricket schools clinic in Barcelona. Around a 50/50 boys and girls ratio, they had practiced cricket a little in their schools once or twice with their teachers, but this was the first time they had used the wonderful Mar Bella facilities for group activities.
Five schools, Institute Emperador Carles, Escola Eduard Marquina,Escola Institut Trinitat Nova, Escola Casas, and Escola Nausica took part in the clinic that included warm ups with catching and running, and batting, a bowling before finishing with a match between the different groups.
Covid precautions were in place with the five groups separated and two monitors assigned to each group. More Introduction to cricket clinics are scheduled for the future. Many thanks for all concerned, especially the monitors for giving up their time to promote the sport to newcomers to the game.
