Cataluyna’s up and coming club Santa Coloma have been in action towards the end of last year and were quick of the blocks to organize one of the first cricket events in Spain for 2014.

Recently Santa Coloma CC held cricket workshops in the local institutions of La Bastida, Fray Luis and the famous Sagrada Familia introducing cricket to Spanish children for the first time.
The school children had a very happy approach to the game, and they got especially excited at attending a sports day at school, on the last day before the Christmas holidays .
The Institute of Fray Luis and Sagrada familia in the Barcelona province organized a cultural and sports day in which cricket was a focal point. The school were taught the basics of cricket by Sajib Jasim ,Sohel Dhali and Tuhin Bhuyan with overr 67 boys and girls participating.
Despite the bad weather the young students enjoyed a great day practicing the sport of cricket, they all listened very carefully to the basic rules and later were able to implement everything they had learnt in the workshop. Two of the teachers at the institute; also showed a great interest in the sport..
Just after the New Year Santa Coloma held a friendly match of 35 overs at the Puriabrava Cricket ground to start off the year in tremendous fashion for this club that is cementing itself firmly in Cataluyna and Cricket Espana circles.
