MCC Legacy Junior Cricket Festival La Manga 2011
This weekend Cricket Espana held MCC Legacy grant Junior Cricket Festival held at La Manga club where over 100 children took part in various Cricket events which include 7 a side soft ball matches throwing and catching competitions with a hard ball 20.20 match was played as the final event of the day.
A planned coaching session to be held by Cricket Espana´s group of new level 1 coaches had to be cancelled due to poor weather in the morning.
The standard of play was excellent throughout the day with Boy and Girls playing in mixed teams with ages ranging from 4 to 18 years of age, Teams taking part in the Soft Ball event were from Mar Azul International School with a Senior and Junior Team, Sporting Alfas CC, San Fulgencio and La Manga Lions CC, each team played 3 matches each with Sporting Alfas winning the event after staying unbeaten.

Presentations were held at the end of all events with some wonderful prizes sponsored by Cricket Travel which included Newbery Bats, shirts and other various cricket items.
Cricket Espana would like to thank all the volunteers’ coaches and Parents who help to organised all these events, without there support we wouldn’t have the opportunity for the children to play our much loved game.
