PLAYA BLANCA SLAY THE SPINMAKER DRAGONS
Playa Blanca opened their campaign with a strong performance against the Spinmaker Dragons in the latest match to take place in the Lanzarote league. The game at Yaiza was played on the 3rd of May and the Dragons batted first making 148 off 26.2 overs. A fine 32 by Matt Evans was the nucleus of the Dragons innings but Josh Delappe`s bowling figures of 2 for 13 off 6 overs ensured that Blanca had a run chase well within their means.
A fine innings by Steve Elsdon who scored 63 put Blanca well on the way to the spoils and the sealed victory in the 22cd over with six wickets to spare. In their next fixtures the Dragons entertain the Fisherman`s Inn whilst Playa Blanca travel to play The Commitments CC.
