Pinatar Pirates continued their winning streak in the ECCL Premier League with a convincing win over a plucky Madrid side.
The hosts won the toss and elected to bat. It was Madrid that started the better grabbing three quick wickets with only a handful of runs on the board. However, the depth of the Pinatar batting came to the home sides rescue and they were soon back on top thanks to some strong partnerships between the middle and lower order batsmen.
In the end Talat Ali batting at nine top scored for the Pirates with an unbeaten half century and their were notable contributions from Gopi Singh (51) and Akash Panchal (45 not out). For Madrid Awan Shah was the standout bowler taking three wickets for just thirty runs.
In reply Madrid struggled against the pace of opening bowler Talat Ali and the Spanish International bagged five wickets for just 15 runs. Ian Griffiths (50) and Adam Langhans (33) did offer some resitance but the visitors were finally all out for 116 inside 33 overs.
Pinatar took maximum points from the game whilst Madrid scored 4 points.
