Pinatar Pirates II and Valencia Star gave the spectators a mouthwatering match but it was the away team that finally won the day by the smallest of margins.
Batting first after winning the toss Valencia Star were all out for 236. They were heavily indebted to their centurion Z ullah for the competitive total. T Khan also chipped in towards the end of the innings with a fine 35 whilst B Singh was the picked of the bowlers for Pinatar, taking four wickets for just 45 runs.
In reply, Pinatar were always in with a shout, but finally lost out by just six runs with two wickets in hand. Gopi Singh hit 113 for the hosts and their were contributions from R Singh and B Singh but tight bowling at the death won the day for Valencia Star. Z Ullah followed his fine performance with the bat to take two vital wickets for his team (including the centurion G Singh) to see his team home with just six runs to spare.
