On a wet start to the season and dark clouds around it was decided to play 30 overs to get a Match in . Sporting Alfas CC won the toss and had a bat . The lads from Luton bowled well using the conditions to their advantage with some swing and seam, with Freeman beating the bat on a number of occasions.
Pennick(37) and Brook started off as they did last year with another 50 run partnershp up the top of the order before Pennick came down the track and skied one. Algar(42) came in at three and continued his fine form and took the attack to Offley CC.
With the scores at 127 Brook retired after hitting another 50. Skipper Fletcher and Roper with only a few overs left started throwing the bat and wickets fell but SACC managed 190/5 off their 30 overs. Offleys skipper Sall was the pick of the Bowlers with figures of 33/3
In reply Offley hit the bad balls to the boundary with Dexfield scoring five fours out of his 22 . Wickets started to tumble as the Old Pro Paul Taylor was introduced to the attack producing a fine spell of 3 for 14 off 5overs.
The dependable Ward behind the stumps taking his first stumping of the season followed by two catches before the rain came down and everyone rushed to the bar with Offley on 38/5 off 22 overs. The rain continued so the umpires decided to call it a day and fun and chat was had by all afterwards in the bar .
