Further Update – August 22cd 2015
Neil had a little setback Tuesday morning when he had a “blackout” and had to be re-admitted to hospital. The doctors believe this was a consequence of the new medication that he has started taking. He returned home recently were he continues to improve.
Cricket Espana request at this time that you respect Neil and his families privacy and refrain from sending cricket related e-mails for the foreseeable future. The directorate will continue to keep you updated on Neil’s condition.

As most of the ECCL know Neil suffered an heart attack last Sunday afternoon whilst playing cricket at La Manga. Neil was batting at the time ( 70 odd not out) when he felt unwell and dizzy forcing him to leave the field. He subsequently collapsed and was rushed to Murcia Hospital were a stent was fitted to an artery.

After a couple of days in intensive care he was transferred to Torrevieja hospital were he was subsequently released, on Thursday, into the care of his lovely wife Della and his family. Neil is making a good recovery but he will need to take things easy for the next couple of months or so and I know all members of CE will bear this in mind as the season draws to a close.

CE wishes Neil a speedy recovery and wish both him and his family a quiet few weeks as they endeavour to return to family normality. The CE Executive have already offered their help in whatever capacity support is needed.

As you can see from the picture below, despite his ordeal Neil has maintained his sense of humour and thanks everyone for the messages of support he has received whilst in hospital ….
