MOJACAR NOTCH UP FIRST WIN
After winning the toss La Manga decided to bat first. A fine opening stand between N.Brook And R.Goldsmith pushed La Manga close to a hundred runs before losing their first wicket.Goldsmith finally falling to the bowling of A.Stannard for 47, this brought in G.singh.
He and Brook continued to score well, and a total of 250 plus looked on the cards.
After the second drinks break the Mojacar bowlers fought back well, and after removing Brook for a very good 86, wickets fell regularly and the run rate dropped.
La Manga reaching a total of 222 for 7.
In reply Mojacar openers P.Finch and S.Ali took the score quickly to 50 before Finch was out lbw. Ali was then joined by Z.Abbas who scored freely until two quick wickets fell with the score on 85.
Abbas and Beal then steadied the innings moving Mojacar to needing under a hundred to win.
After the loss of Beal, Abbas put on a fine display of batting, supported well by the other Mojacar batsmen.
With ten overs left Mojacar passed the La Manga total with four wickets to spare. Abbas finished with 136 not out, and was then applauded of the pitch for a very impressive and controlled innings.
