Barcelona Eagles had their wings clipped and fell back down to earth when a spirited Minhaj performance landed them victory in a close contest at Montjuic recently.
Minhaj won the toss, elected to bat and were all out for 152 in the 22cd over. Opener Mubasher top score with 45 and he was well supported by Yasir (35) in a formidable second wicket partnership. For the Eagles, Imran Ali was the standout bowler, taking five wickets for just 23 runs in his five overs.
Unfortunately, for the Eagles there batting let them down and they fell 15 runs shy of the Minhaj total. The fall of wickets at vital times led to the Eagles downfall, and Dilsher and Amir put in great contributions with the ball for Minhaj, taking three wickets apiece.
Eagles are now winless in the league from two games whilst Minhaj now share second spot with both Barcelona and Youngstar. However, Santa Coloma remain well clear of all their rivals, having gone four from four in their matches so far.
