Cricket España are excited to announce that the Mallorca Meerkats Junior Cricket Club have joined the organisation. The ambitious Juniors are already planning a tournament for May 2022 entitled the Balearic Bash.

Summary:
The Balearic Bash is an annual junior kwik cricket tournament hosted in Mallorca, open to 8 junior teams from Spain in year one, opening up to 8 more teams from abroad in year two.
Format:
Kwik cricket
Pitch – Two sets of wickets, 17 yards part
Field – dimensions (60 yards wide, by 76 yards long) – on astro football pitches
Teams – Each team comprises of 6 players. Suggested squads are up to 9 players.
6 overs for each team
Games last between 40-50 minutes
Tournament format:
8 teams (from across Spain)
8-13 year olds eligible to play
4 venues, 56 matches over 2 days (Saturday and Sunday)
League format
Each team plays each other once
3 points for a win
League monitored via basic app or the website
Venues:
- Queens, Palma
- Agora, Portols Nous
- The Academy, Marraxti
