MADRID UNITED OVERCOME ALCORCON IN LOW SCORING MATCH AT LA MANGA

Regular rivals Madrid United and Alcorcon came together for a league game in La Manga and it was United who went back to Madrid victorious. The two teams know each other well after frequent pre season friendlies in Sonseca and after winning the toss Madrid United elected to bat first.

This decision seemed to backfire originally as they were all out for just 119 in the 33rd over. Suleman and Abbas took three wickets each for Alcorcon and Malik chipped in with a further two to complete a great all round bowling performance.

Alcorcon’s captain Mohammad Akmal decided to reverse the batting order and after just four overs Alcorcon were rattled at 12 for 3. Unfortunately Alcorcon never recovered from this and by the 14th over they were in deep trouble at 49 for 8. Star batsman Tariq Ali entered the frame at number nine but was unable to save the day as they were bowled out for 65 in the 23rd over.
