Madrid CC started their two match league programme on the coast with a convincing victory over a Torrevieja side who still are searching to find some league form this year.
Batting first Madrid fell just three runs short of maximum batting points, finally running out of wickets with the score on 247. Skipper David Stirton achieved a personal milestone by recording his maiden half century for the club, whilst Josh Bancroft and Jon Woodward both made notable contributions to the visitors score.
In reply, Torrevieja again failed to find three figures with the bat, as they were bowled out for just 69. Josh Bancroft complete a great all round day for himself returning figures of 3-7 during a great spell of spin bowling.
Final points tally Madrid 19 points and Torrevieja 6 points. Tommorrow Madrid travel a short distance up the East coast to play Sporting Alfas at the Woodbridge Oval.
