The Triskell Taverners put in an excellent performance against Madrid but still came off second best in a compelling contest at the Sonseca Cricket Ground.
Batting first the pub team from Madrid scored 195 for 6 from their over allcation. Churnin and Paul Buffery both contributed half centuries for Triskell, whilst Ed Hitchcock grabbed two wickets for just 28 runs.
Hitchcock was at the forefront of the Madrid batting, hitting a fantastic unbeaten century to steer his team to victory with six wickets to spare. Fitzgerald bowled well for Triskell, taking three of the four wickets to fall for the cost of 34 runs.
Triskell were unlucky to only get five points from the game whilst Madrid came away with 18 points.
