Madridwon by 218 runs.
Following the batting performance against Sporting Alfas the previous day, there was no doubt thatMadridwould bat first when they won the toss against a depleted La Manga team.
Tariq Ali (174) continued batting the way he had the day before, and dominated the bowling once again, scoring his second century of the weekend. He opened the batting with Rehan Chaudhry (14), and it looked like La Manga would be chasing an impossible total. The balance of the game seemed to have moved to La Manga when M. Garside (3 – 71) came into the attack, he bowled with great control, picking up 3 important top-order wickets; however, Warren Meredith (42) coming in at number 6 managed, with Tariq Ali, both to stabilise the innings and keep the run-rate high. Explosive batting by Sunil Balani (15*) and Khan (36*) at the end took theMadridtotal to 326 for 7.
None of the La Manga top 4 batsman were able to make double figures, and were all dismissed in a masterful display of bowling by Sunil Balani (4 – 27). N. Brook (26) and T. Nadim (36) took the score past 100, but never managed to keep within the required run-rate. Muhammad Akmal (2 – 9), carrying on his bowling form from the game against Alfas, picked up 2 wickets in his 4th over and the innings was closed at 108 all out when N. Brook was stumped off Qaiser Ali (1 – 4) in the 28th over.
