Madrid CC Youth Cricket Update
The first half of 2017 has seen cricket being played at three schools in Madrid: Runnymede College, Maxwell School and Colegio Spinola.
The first two during school PE classes and the latter through the school sports club.
Congratulations to Spanish physical education teachers Javier Perez and Enrique Petregal for taking on a new sport with such enthusiasm and a big thanks to Cricket España for supplying the equipment.
The feedback from the kids has been overwhelmingly positive.
At Colegio Spinola, for the first time, some of the more experienced kids have enjoyed their first taste of batting with pads, gloves and helmets while facing Madrid Cricket Club’s new junior bowling machine.
This is a big step forward with a number of the older children now close to making their debut for Madrid CC 2nd XI.
More junior cricket is scheduled for September, after the long summer holiday, including a special session at the British Council School.
