Madrid Cricket Club announces sponsorship deal with Kukri Sports
Madrid CC is pleased to announce a major sponsorship deal with Kukri, a leading sports apparel supplier. The two-year agreement means Kukri Sports will supply Madrid CC with on- and off-field sports clothes until the end of 2009, with an option to extend the deal for two more years.
The club has just taken delivery of its new Kukri kit and will wear it for the first time next weekend in two Spanish Cricket League matches in La Manga. Although the team has already qualified for the league semi-finals in August thanks to a five-match winning streak, the aim is to top League South by defeating Valencia Green on Saturday 26th. The final group-stage match against La Manga takes place on Sunday 27th.
Depending on this weekend’s results, Madrid CC will face either Sporting Alfas CC on Saturday August 16th or Barcelona CC on Saturday August 23rd in the semis, with a place in the final on Saturday 6th September at stake.
The kit deal is Madrid CC’s first long-term sponsorship agreement, and the club hopes to build on the deal and secure support from cricket-friendly companies in other sectors of the economy.
