City Lions put a end to Cataluyna’s 100% record with a three wicket victory over the table toppers.
Batting first after winning the toss Cataluyna made 155 for 8 from their 25 overs. Asif top scored with 40 and a belligerent 38 not out of 27 balls from Atiq at the end of the innings gave the Cataluyna score a par total on the Montjuic pitch.
Lions came out to bat with intent but lost four quick wickets. In Tehsin they had the match winning and he completed a fine half century before being caught when on 54. It was left to Faisal and Adeel to get their side over the line, a feat they did with just one over to spare.
The victory for Lions puts them back in the mix at the top of Cataluyna League A as the competition enters its closing stages.
