Levante made it two wins out of two to surge to the top of the ECCL Premier League with a comfortable victory over Madrid Cricket Club at La Manga yesterday.
Madrid batted first and were all out for just 198. A large chunk of their runs came from Sumon Hussain who scored a cracking 109. This included five sixes in just one over. Langhans (33) and Tetlow (24) were the other notable contributors to the Madrid score. For Levante Dave Murphy and Dave Tivey took three wickets apiece.
In reply, Levante made light work in chasing down the total. Opener Rob Pickford was in fine form, seeing his side home with a fantastic 115 not out. The opening partnership between Pickford and Damian Garvey (32) was worth 85 and then with the help of Rhys Morgan, who added an unbeaten 26 they strolled to a nine wicket victory.
Levante maximum points whilst Madrid CC took just 3 batting points from the game.
