The second game of the day was a much closer affair but still went the way of the home side. Once again Levante batted first and opener Yasir Aztaf continued were he left off in the first game to make a sizeable contribution. He top scored in his teams total of 193 for 9 with an innings worth 89 runs. Connor Wood for La Manga/Torrevieja was the pick off the bowlers for the visitors, bowling four very economical overs for just 27 runs, and netting four wickets in the process.
La Manga were in the game for long periods but crucially lost wickets at key intervals as none of their players went on to make a mojor score, despite several getting good starts. Youngster Caleb Laloo played well, with maturity beyond his years, to top scored with 32, whilst Tariq and Ajmal took two wickets each, to assist the Levante cause.
The visitors innings came to a close on 153 for 7, forty one runs shy of what was required for victory. So a strong start to last years ECCL winners Levante with two wins from two. La Manga/Torrevieja will look to rebound quickly next weekend when they travel once again for two T-Twenty matches, this time just up the AP7 to the Woodbridge Oval were they will play Sporting Alfas in a two match series.
