Two local rivals put on an exciting game of cricket in the last league game to take place at the VCG this year.
It was the home side that batted first and they piled on the runs as the Valencia Star bowlers toiled in the sun. The star of the show for Levante was Rob Pickford who scored a fantastic 103 for his club. This came after the Levante openers Fazal and Tony Little had given their side a good platform by putting on 93 for the first wicket.
Levante were finally all out for 311, giving both teams maximum batting and bowling points. Valencia Star found batting even easier and punished the Levante bowlers to good effect. They finally overtook the Levante total with five wickets to spare. Awais top scored with 87 and Sohail saw his side home with a competent 62 not out.
Valencia Star received the full quota of points from the contest whilst Levante II ended their indifferent season with a loss and seven points.
Valencia Star 312 for 5 beat Levante II 311 all out by 5 wickets.
