LEAGUE VICTORIES FOR BOTH SPORTING ALFAS CLUBS
Both Sporting Alfas clubs received league victories last weekend, although the wins in each case came in different circumstances.
Regretably, Madrid United did not turn up to the Woodbridge Oval, so Alfas were awarded 17 match points and the away side minus 10 points in accordance with league rules.
Alfas I travelled to La Manga to play Mojacar and came home with a resounding victory. Alfas batted first and scored an impressive 288 for 6, with Laundon, Climent and Crompton all amongst the runs. In reply Mojacar could only muster up 66 runs to give the Albir club a comfortable 222 run victory. jamie Roper, fresh from his Under 17 exploits in the Isle of Man took 3 wickets for the youthful looking Alfas club.
Unfortunately, both teams did not have a scorer or eleven players, Alfas fielding only 10 and Mojacar only 9, plus no scorer for either side, so both teams had 4 points and 6 points deducted in accordance with league rules. The final points tally came to 16 points for Alfas and minus 3 for Mojacar.
