Lanzarote CC secured a place in next week’s T-Twenty final, were they will play St George CC, after beating Puerto Del Carmen Cobras comfortably in a winner takes all clash last Sunday.
Batting first Lanzarote posted the challenging total of 236 for four from their full over allocation. Ruble Singh was the star of the show hitting 123 not out in a scintillating innings. The former La Manga and St George star was supported well by Darren Spurr (29) and Monish (27). Sachin took 2-25 in a nice spell of bowling for the Cobras.
Puerto Del Carmen tried hard to grind down the Lanzarote total, and at one stage were making decent headway, but they eventually finished on 186 for 5. Opener Matty Evans put in another good performance with the bat, hitting 77 and V Singh was there at the end on 39 not out, but it was too little too late for the Cobras.
With the game between St George and the Wolves was cancelled as there was nothing riding on it. Lanzarote and St George are the teams heasding to the PDC ground next weekend to take part in the T-Twenty showpiece. St George will be hoping to make it a league and cup double, whilst Lanzarote will be looking for their first piece of silverware in a while.
