Levante and La Manga started their weekend double-header with a draw. Levante batted first and got off to an excellent start with a century partnership between the opening pair Ceasar Sampaio and Ali Zaib.
However, La Manga with five players under the age of 16 in their team fought back well to pull Levante back to 159 for 7 at the end of the 36th over. A late surge from the Levante tail, especially Martin Taylor with 44, added vital runs and the visitors from Valencia ended up 195 all out at the end of their innings. Hugh James, Ian Hunt and Rupert James took three wickets each for the hosts.
In response, La Manga found runs tough to find, but equally, Levante had difficulty in taking wickets. La Manga reached three figures in the 28th over but had only lost two wickets. The platform was set for a strong finish but it never materialised and the home side finished with a score of 150 for 3 after their quota of overs. David Williams was top scorer with 55.
A winning draw and 12 points for Levante, whilst La Manga take 10 points from the contest.
Levante 195 all out drew with La Manga 150 for 3.
