La Manga Cricket Club second XI took maximum points from Intellectuals of Alicante in the latest ECCL Division Two fixture.
Batting first La Manga amassed 286 for 6 with centurion G Singh being the mainstay of the innings. He was well supported by V Singh who scored a half century and Davies who remained 41 not out at the declaration of the home sides innings. Cormack and Faulkner took two wickets each for the visitors, who were opening their league campaign.
The Intellectuals batting was rusty and they could only manage to make a small dint into the La Manga score, eventually ewnding up all out for 102. Matt Copperwheat took five wickets for La Manga, with only three Intellectual batsmen making double figures.
La Manga ran out convincing 184 run winners and took 20 points from the match, whilst Intellectuals got just two batting and three bowling points.
