La Manga second XI put a poor performance against Levante behind them and got back to winning ways by beating Sporting Alfas at the Woodbridge Oval last weekend.
Batting first the hosts were all out for 208 with John Braithwaite top scoring with a fine half century. Vikash Rawal was the pick of the La Manga bowlers taking three crucial wickets for just 21 runs.
Vikash continued to be a thorn in the side of Alfas with the beat, scoring an unbeaten century, which was the catalyst for a tense La Manga victory. The victory for the visitors saw them leap frog Alfas in the league table to go top of this closely fought division.
Levante and Madrid have to play each other twice in September and a double victory for either team in both games could see either team still catch La Manga and take the title.
